Fani Willis recently defended the hiring of her alleged lover, Nathan Wade. Willis claimed Sunday she paid all outside counsels on her Trump case the “same hourly rate.”
During a church service on January 14, 2024 Willis added, “I’m a little confused. I appointed three special counselors. It’s my right to do, paid them all the same hourly rate. They only attack one,” Willis said Sunday. “I hired one white woman, a good personal friend and a great lawyer, a superstar, I tell you. I hired one white man — brilliant — my friend and a great lawyer. And I hired one Black man, another superstar, a great friend and a great lawyer.”
“The Black man I chose has been a judge for more than 10 years, run[s] a private practice more than 20 [years],” Willis said. “Represented businesses in civil litigation … served a prosecutor, a criminal defense lawyer, special assistant attorney general.”

“You cannot expect black women to be perfect and save the world”
“We need to be allowed to stumble”

She also said that all special prosecutors who were working on the case against the former President were paide the same hourly rate as Wade. Well, according to an investigative report, that may not be true.
From the Daily Caller:
As recently as May 2023, her office paid the attorney considered Georgia’s top racketeering expert, John Floyd, only $200 per hour, while Wade — who reportedly has little to no experience prosecuting RICO cases — was earning $250 an hour, according to billing statements obtained by the DCNF.

The disparity in earning may stem from a structural difference in Wade’s contracts. Wade’s contract from Nov. 15, 2022 to May 15. 2023 provides him nearly four times the earning potential as Floyd’s initial contract. It also covers work-related travel and lodging expenses.
