Former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt just told the world exactly what it was like to work for Donald Trump. She described him as kind and uplifting during a recent online chat with her followers. This comes after she stepped down from her high-pressure job to focus on her family.
According to Fox News, Leavitt, aged 29 years old, held the press secretary post from January 2025 through August 2026. She made history as the youngest-ever White House press secretary, per New York Post. Now, she is back home with her two young children and preparing for a new role as a TV contributor.
Leavitt offered a clear look at Trump’s personality that many people miss. She told her followers, “Yes! He’s the best boss,” when asked if he was nice, according to Fox News. She added that the media does not show this side of him.
“People don’t see this side of him because the media doesn’t show it but he has been nothing but kind and uplifting to me, even since departing,” she said, per Fox News. She also noted that he is “hilarious” and simply said, “Love him!”
The old job was intense. Leavitt stated, “As Press Sec, I was working in the office 60+ hours a week, traveling the world, and always on call 24/7,” according to Fox News. She contrasted that with her current life. “Now, I am home with my kids every day and doing some TV hits,” she said. “These things are not the same, ma’am.”
When followers asked what she does in her free time, Leavitt was honest. “Haha. I don’t have free time,” she replied, per Daily Wire. She explained that as a “mom of two littles,” she is lucky if she can take a shower in peace.
She confirmed she will officially join Fox News as a contributor on November 1, according to Fox News. Before that, she has been answering questions from her 3.1 million Instagram followers, per New York Post. She told them she is traveling all day and has time to chat.
Leavitt also shared advice for young people who want to work in politics. “My advice to people who want to get into politics or comms is to get real-world experience when you’re in college,” she said, per New York Post. She believes that is “where you’re really going to learn the game.”
Leavitt faces a tough choice about her children’s privacy. Daily Wire reports that she obscures their faces in images because she “received a lot of threats and negativity in my job as press sec.” Protecting their innocence is what she believes to be the correct action.
She mentioned that her children might choose to become public figures once they reach adulthood. Leavitt also spoke about her husband, Nicholas Riccio, who is 32 years older than she is, per Daily Wire. She described him as “the absolute best husband and dad in the world”.
Daily Wire notes that concerning their union, she declared, “Marrying this man was the best decision I ever made.” She told followers to “forget the haters” and to “follow your heart.” She confirmed she will vote in the New Hampshire midterm elections and urged others to do the same.
Leavitt’s story shows a woman who worked hard for her country and now works hard for her home. She says the media misses the real truth about the president she served.
