Senator Visits El Salvador

Polls don’t lie, but politicians sure do. And the Democratic Party, clinging to talking points instead of reality, just got another brutal dose of what America really thinks: not much.

This week’s UMass Amherst poll came in like a spring frost for Democrats—cold, unforgiving, and hard to ignore. Just 29% of respondents said they view the Democratic Party favorably. Let that sink in. That’s the worst showing in over a decade and yet, somehow, it feels generous given the parade of missteps, virtue-signaling, and outright detachment from real-world issues we’ve witnessed since the Biden years began unraveling.

It gets worse. A combined 62% disapprove of the Democrats’ performance in Washington, and 40% didn’t just disapprove—they strongly disapproved. These are numbers that should send strategists into DEFCON 1. But instead, Democratic leadership appears to be more focused on defending foreign nationals with gang ties than addressing the crumbling confidence of American voters.

And speaking of that disaster

While voters are losing trust by the millions, Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) flew to El Salvador—not to advocate for border security or protect American citizens—but to try to meet with a deported, gang-affiliated illegal immigrant, Kilmar Abrego Garcia, in a Salvadoran mega-prison.

Let’s be clear: Garcia isn’t some misunderstood “Maryland man.” The Department of Justice released damning evidence this week confirming he’s a validated MS-13 gang member, specifically part of the “Westerns” clique, holding the rank of “Chequeo.” His wife had filed multiple restraining orders against him for domestic abuse. An immigration judge ruled him a flight risk. And now we know local law enforcement had him flagged years ago.

And what does Van Hollen do? He wastes taxpayer money to show up in a foreign country, demand access to a maximum-security facility, and cry foul when he’s told “no.” The Vice President of El Salvador flatly shut him down. No visit. No phone call. No special treatment. This wasn’t diplomacy. This was grandstanding, pure and simple.

Even more insulting? He had the gall to claim Abrego Garcia was “abducted”—as though deporting a violent, unlawful alien under a court-validated order is somehow a crime. It’s insulting to law enforcement, to our intelligence agencies, and worst of all, to the American victims of violent crime, like Rachel Morin, whose mother stood at a White House podium this week and shared the agony of losing her daughter to another illegal Salvadoran national.

While the Democrats are busy lighting their credibility on fire, President Trump’s numbers are solidifying. According to Harvard-Harris, 48% of Americans believe he’s the right man for the moment. More than half trust him to prioritize ordinary Americans—a seismic shift fueled in part by his unapologetic trade and immigration policies, including tariffs that even UAW President Shawn Fain praised for “bringing work back.”

And yet, the media is still trying to spin fairy tales about how Trump is losing ground. They’re clinging to focus groups and anonymous Twitter accounts while reality barrels toward them like a freight train. Every time they lie, the truth hits harder.

The Democratic Party is collapsing under the weight of its own contradictions—protecting criminals over citizens, coddling elites over workers, preaching equity while delivering chaos. And no matter how many slogans they come up with or how many “task forces” they announce, the numbers don’t lie:
