Protestors Plan Demonstration Over DC Crime Crackdown

President Donald Trump’s move to federalize Washington, D.C.’s police force and bring in the National Guard was always going to trigger an overreaction from the Left. Sure enough, Democrats and their activist base have responded not with solutions to the capital’s violent crime wave, but with noise—literally.

Protesters have taken to the streets armed with drums, pots, pans, and anything else that can create a racket. The goal appears to be simple: make so much of a nuisance that they either draw media attention or provoke arrests for violating noise ordinances. In typical fashion, they seem less concerned about the spiraling homicide rates and more focused on crafting an “oppression” narrative for the evening news.

Online commenters aren’t impressed. Many point out that when Democrats repeat irrational behavior night after night, the simplest explanation is that we’re watching untreated mass delusion. Years of spoon-fed narratives from a pliant press corps have only deepened the condition.

Some note that the cacophony brings to mind Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s own theatrical protest tactics—loud, disruptive, and designed more for social media than for actual policy change. Others warn that these nightly drumlines may find themselves in conflict not with federal authorities, but with their own neighbors, who might be less than thrilled about the midnight percussion section outside their windows.

And in D.C., where tensions are already high and crime is already rampant, “conflict with neighbors” isn’t always limited to shouting matches. As one commenter dryly put it, “It’ll be a one-way discussion involving gunfire, most likely. Just don’t call the cops—it might upset a bleeding protester.”
