Prince Harry’s Comments On Meta Decision

Oh, Prince Harry, here we go again. The man who fled royal life to pursue a “normal” existence of private jets, multimillion-dollar deals, and Netflix documentaries has now decided he’s the arbiter of free speech.

In his latest crusade, Harry is taking aim at Meta for scaling back its censorship policies, apparently upset that people might finally be able to express opinions without Big Tech “fact-checkers” wagging their fingers. And of course, this self-righteous statement comes courtesy of the Office of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, because even as a self-proclaimed “regular guy,” Harry just can’t resist the royal branding.

In his lengthy tirade, Harry painted Meta’s decision to ditch its so-called “hate speech” restrictions as a catastrophic blow to public safety and democracy itself. “Allowing more abuse and normalizing hate speech serves to silence speech and expression, not foster it,” he declared. Ah yes, because nothing says “free expression” quite like silencing opinions Harry and Meghan don’t like. The irony here is thicker than the fog in London: a man who profits off airing his personal grievances to the world is now demanding that social media companies control what the rest of us can say.

Let’s call this what it really is: Harry throwing a tantrum because Meta has decided to stop babysitting the internet on his behalf. The royal couple has spent years blaming everyone from the British tabloids to the royal family to the citizens of the UK for their endless PR woes. Now, with Meta scaling back its censorship tools, Harry is panicking because it means people are free to criticize him and Meghan without fear of being slapped with a fact-check or banned outright. And based on the responses to his statement, people have plenty to say.

One social media user summed it up perfectly: “Mark Zuckerberg has upset the Markles. People on Meta are now free to call Meghan a ‘gold-digging fame-whore’ or Harry a ‘half-blood prince,’ and there’s nothing they can do about it. This is tragic.” Another person chimed in, pointing out the glaring truth Harry refuses to see: “They have blamed racism, the Royal Family, the UK media, the people of the UK, and now they are saying it’s haters. It’s time Harry noticed that people across the world do not like his and his wife’s behavior and treatment of others. They are to blame.” Ouch, but accurate.

The most laughable part of Harry’s statement might be his dramatic warning that Meta’s rollback of censorship is somehow contributing to a “global mental health crisis.” Really, Harry? A social media platform deciding not to police every comment is now the root of all mental health problems? Not inflation, unemployment, war, or government overreach, but this? It’s almost as if Harry has completely lost touch with reality—which, come to think of it, isn’t surprising for someone who lives in a Montecito mansion while lecturing the rest of us on morality.

And let’s not forget the added jab at Meta for cutting its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs. Harry claims this puts “everyone in harm’s way.” Really? Maybe the harm in question is fewer corporate buzzwords, which, let’s be honest, most Americans won’t lose sleep over.

Here’s the reality Harry refuses to accept: free speech means people are allowed to express their opinions, even if those opinions aren’t flattering to him or his wife. For someone who left the UK claiming he wanted privacy and independence, Harry sure spends a lot of time trying to control the public narrative. Perhaps instead of policing Meta’s policies, he should take a good, hard look in the mirror and ask why so many people are critical of him and Meghan in the first place. Spoiler alert: it’s not because of racism or “hate speech.” It’s because they’ve turned grievance into a brand and victimhood into a business model.

At the end of the day, Harry’s outrage is just another chapter in the Markle playbook: blame everyone else for their problems while demanding special treatment. The rest of us? We’ll be enjoying the newly uncensored Meta, where people can finally say what they really think—whether Harry likes it or not. #SaveTheMarkles, indeed.
