Taxpayer money will no longer be used to support illegal immigration and illegal aliens, according to an executive order President Donald Trump signed late Monday night,.
Fox News reported that the order is to ensure “taxpayer resources are used to protect the interests of American citizens, not illegal aliens,” per the Trump administration.
The order states that federal departments and agencies need to stop providing money to help illegal aliens. This money is also not to fund “sanctuary” policies.
“My Administration will uphold the rule of law, defend against the waste of hard-earned taxpayer resources, and protect benefits for American citizens in need, including individuals with disabilities and veterans,” Trump said in the order.
Trump wants to make sure the money funds programs that benefit Americans.
“President Trump is committed to safeguarding Federal public benefits for American citizens who are truly in need, including individuals with disabilities and veterans,” according to White House fact sheet on the executive order.
An increase in illegal immigration has drained public funds to the tune of $451 billion to care for illegal aliens and gotaways in the U.S. unlawfully since January 2021, according to the U.S. House Homeland Security Committee.
According to the executive order, federal and state taxpayers paid more than $16.2 billion to Medicaid-funded emergency services to illegal aliens through President Joe Biden’s open borders agenda.
“The Biden Administration gave billions in taxpayer dollars to left-wing groups that facilitated mass illegal migration and provided legal services to challenge deportation orders,” per the fact sheet.
