Man Arrested After Incident At Protest

So let’s talk about the “Tesla Takedown” protests this weekend—because nothing screams “principled resistance” like vandalizing cars and encouraging violence against the guy who made electric vehicles cool enough for Hollywood to drive but dared to think independently. Yes, there were actual protests at Tesla facilities across the country on Saturday. And by “protests,” we mean a hodgepodge of rage-fueled tantrums by people mad that Elon Musk refuses to bow down to the Church of Wokeness.

In New York City—shockingly—the protest signs didn’t just criticize Tesla or Musk. No, they took it a step further. Signs openly encouraging violence. Against a person. A private citizen. You’d think that would make national headlines, or at least trigger a fraction of the outrage we hear when someone makes a mean joke about a Democrat on Twitter. But nope. Crickets.

In Ohio, things weren’t much better. A man simply trying to go about his life and drive his Tesla was screamed at like he was wearing a MAGA hat at a vegan potluck. Police had to step in just to keep the peace. Remember when people used to say, “Hey, it’s just a car”? Apparently, not if the car was made by someone who believes in free speech and doesn’t parrot every line from MSNBC.

But the most disturbing incident? That happened in Idaho, of all places. Outside a Tesla dealership in Boise, 30 protesters showed up to rage against the shiny cars of “the enemy,” but were met by 200 counter-protesters. Because, well, it’s Idaho. And unlike coastal enclaves, people out there haven’t yet surrendered their sanity to identity politics and ESG scoreboards.

Now here’s where it went off the rails—literally. According to police, a 70-year-old man named Christopher Talbot allegedly made an obscene gesture toward a counter-protester, then hit him with his car. The victim, a man who had just parked his truck (complete with pro-Trump flags, naturally), got out—and bam. He’s struck by Talbot’s vehicle. Thankfully, the man was able to drive himself to the hospital and his injuries weren’t life-threatening. Talbot, brilliant strategist that he is, apparently forgot that cars have license plates and was tracked down and charged with aggravated battery.

This is where we are now. People have been so whipped into a frenzy over Elon Musk—yes, Elon Musk, the guy who builds cars, launches rockets, and made Twitter slightly more tolerable—that they’re not just going after vehicles anymore. They’re targeting people. And where’s the outcry? Where are the breathless editorials from The New York Times condemning political violence? Where are the “This Is Not Who We Are” think pieces? Absent. Because the victim had a Trump flag, and the villain was protesting Musk. So, you know, rules don’t apply.

Apparently, there are now groups so obsessed with destroying Elon Musk that they’re actually paying people to protest Tesla—yes, paying folks to show up with pre-made signs and manufactured outrage. It’s not grassroots, it’s astroturf, and it’s attracting some of the most deranged individuals out there. When your movement needs a payroll to stir up chaos, maybe it’s not a movement at all—it’s a tantrum with funding.

It’s also being reported that these protests are a fake website that was deleted, showing an offer.

Let’s not pretend this stuff happens in a vacuum either. Late-night hosts like Jimmy Kimmel egg it on with smug jokes and backhanded winks to their audiences. Kimmel, who once fancied himself a comedian, now acts like a low-rent MSNBC pundit with a writers’ room. He throws out jabs about “Tesla terrorism” and then gets offended—offended—when Musk calls him on it. Sorry, Jimmy, if you’re going to make the jokes, you should at least have the spine to stand by them instead of collapsing into a puddle of faux indignation.

This is the Left’s new playbook: gin up rage, pretend it’s activism, and when things get violent, shrug and say, “Well, that’s unfortunate—but also, Elon Musk is literally Hitler, so…” The problem is, these people genuinely believe they’re the heroes in some kind of moral crusade. They’ve convinced themselves that anything is justified in the name of “resistance,” even if it means endangering others, silencing speech, or targeting individuals who don’t fall in line.

It’s deranged, it’s dangerous, and it’s only getting worse. The Left keeps patting itself on the back while real people are being harassed, assaulted, and demonized for the crime of driving the wrong car or supporting the wrong politician. The mask has slipped, and underneath isn’t some brave defender of democracy—it’s just a bully with a cardboard sign and a Twitter account.
