DHS Raids Ilhan Omar’s DC Home In Immigration Probe

Homeland Security agents kicked down the door at Rep. Ilhan Omar’s Washington, D.C. home early Monday morning. This was not a routine visit. It was a judicially authorized search warrant executed by the Department of Homeland Security.

The raid targets a criminal fraud investigation into the Somali-born congresswoman’s immigration documents. Officials say these papers were filled out by her late father when she was just a child. Two sources close to the probe confirmed these details on Thursday.

A Department of Justice spokesperson spoke to Fox News Digital about the operation. The official confirmed the legal basis for the agents’ actions. “Today in the Washington, D.C. area, Homeland Security Investigations executed a judicially authorized search warrant secured by the Department of Justice,” the spokesperson told reporters.

The official did not stop there. They clarified the broader scope of the event. “This enforcement action is part of an ongoing federal investigation,” the spokesperson added. Multiple agents wearing HSI jackets were seen outside the residence in the early hours.

Homeland Security Investigations, or HSI, is the main investigative arm of the department. Their work covers cross-border crime and global threats. This includes drug smuggling and cybercrime. The agency also plays a major front-line role in America’s counterterrorism operations.

This specific probe has been building for some time. In mid-September, Border Czar Tom Homan declared that the progressive congresswoman faced a continuing criminal investigation. The raid on Monday morning moves that warning into action. Fox News reported that the documents in question were completed decades ago.

The story is still developing. The New York Post notes that the investigation focuses on the left-wing Democrat’s immigration records. No further charges have been announced yet. The investigation continues as agents process the evidence collected during the pre-dawn raid.

Two sources familiar with the matter told Fox News Digital that the probe centers on the paperwork itself. They confirmed the details of the investigation on Thursday, weeks after Homan’s initial comments.
