Biden & Kamala Take Part In Pacific Islander, Asian American Month Event

During an event marking Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, President Joe Biden made headlines with his incredibly awkward comments.

Early in his speech, Biden said, “My name’s Joe Biden. I work for Kamala Harris,” which garnered a mix of laughter and applause from the audience. He added, “I asked her to be my vice president because I knew I needed somebody smarter than me.” Although intended to be light-hearted, these remarks came off as a bit uneasy.

In the same speech, President Biden lost a hard fought battle (sarcasm) with the teleprompter and stumbled while commenting about diversity within the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities. His delivery led to moments of confusion, adding to the awkward atmosphere of his mentions of Harris.

Additionally, Biden seemed to have a real problem with saying Kamala’s name during the event.

Vice President Harris also made waves with her comments at the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS) Legislative Leadership Summit. Harris just upped and dropped the f-bomb during a live stream event at the White House.
