Well, this was inevitable. The left-wing media meltdown over Elon Musk continues, and this time, they dragged out Bill Gates to join The View in their latest round of pearl-clutching. Why? Because some of the most influential voices in tech are starting to lean—gasp—right, or at least warm up to the idea that Trump is back in the White House. And for the ladies on The View, that’s apparently cause for a national emergency.
Whoopi Goldberg got things rolling with her usual level of deep intellectual rigor, whining about how Musk has too much power and—brace yourself—how the young tech minds in his orbit are just too inexperienced. She breathlessly pointed out that six of Musk’s team members, as reported by Wired, are between the ages of 19 and 24 and (gasp!) don’t have degrees. The horror.
Of course, she conveniently left out the most important detail: these aren’t random kids who wandered in off the street. They’re young, yes, but they’re also some of the sharpest minds in their fields. In fact, if Whoopi and her fellow panelists had done even a shred of research, they’d realize that a college degree is hardly the only marker of competence—especially in the tech world, where innovation moves faster than the bureaucratic nonsense they seem to love so much.

But it gets even better. Sara Haines—clearly operating in full hysteria mode—jumped in to declare that Musk’s efforts to help Trump cut government waste were not just outrageous but illegal. That’s right, according to Haines, the constitutional separation of powers somehow prohibits the president from reviewing how taxpayer money is being spent. You have to admire the sheer audacity of that claim. The Trump administration actually wants to stop the government from bleeding billions on wasteful programs, and somehow, that’s not just bad—it’s unconstitutional. Absolutely incredible.

Then, Whoopi switched gears to bring in Gates, who did his best to play the part of the wise, concerned billionaire. She bemoaned the apparent “rightward” shift among tech leaders, even going so far as to suggest that these powerful figures now have more influence than the vice president. Hilariously, she couldn’t even remember the VP’s name. (For the record, it’s still Kamala Harris, but it’s understandable why she might forget—Harris herself doesn’t seem to do much remembering these days.)
Gates, for his part, tried to play the reasonable centrist, insisting that not all tech CEOs are moving rightward—before immediately mocking those who had supported Trump’s second inauguration. He chuckled as he poked fun at figures like Mark Zuckerberg, sarcastically suggesting that their enthusiasm for funding the event was purely out of patriotism. Because apparently, in Gates’ world, no one could possibly think it’s a good idea to support a president who actually wants to rein in government waste, boost innovation, and promote free-market policies. No, no—it has to be some kind of performative stunt.
Speaking with Bill Gates, Whoopi says she can’t remember JD Vance’s names while whining about Elon Musk: “It seems like today’s tech billionaires are shifting rightward and seem to have more power than even the VP, whose name I can’t remember.” pic.twitter.com/z29xqh3vs0

Then came the real kicker. When pressed on his own meeting with Trump, Gates admitted that they actually had a productive conversation. He noted that they discussed “global health issues, particularly HIV and Polio.” Now, let’s pause here. For years, the left has screeched that Trump is anti-science, anti-humanitarian, and uninterested in global health. And yet, here we have Gates himself—a man who has spent billions on global health initiatives—acknowledging that Trump engaged with him seriously on these issues.
So what was The View’s response to that? Crickets. Because at the end of the day, they’re not interested in facts. They don’t care that Trump is working with top minds in tech. They don’t care that he’s serious about cutting government waste. And they definitely don’t care that he’s having meaningful discussions on issues like global health.
What they care about is control—control over the narrative, control over the tech world, and most of all, control over who’s allowed to have influence in Washington. And the fact that Trump and Musk are rewriting the rules? That’s driving them absolutely insane.
And frankly, it’s pretty entertaining to watch.
