Hillary Clinton is reportedly involved in planning eventual funeral arrangements for her husband, former President Bill Clinton, as the 42nd president marks his 80th birthday following years of documented health problems.
The claims come from Radar Online and include a mixture of confirmed information about presidential funeral planning and considerably more speculative assertions attributed to sources and presidential historian Leon Wagener.
One detail that is not particularly unusual for a former president is the existence of advance funeral arrangements.
“All current living presidents have plans in the works for a state funeral,” Elizabeth Hargrove, a spokesperson for Washington National Cathedral, told Radar Online.

The outlet reports that Clinton’s eventual memorial service is expected to take place at the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., and could include a traditional funeral service.
Where Clinton would ultimately be buried is less certain.
Wagener told the outlet that he expects Clinton to be buried at the William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum in Little Rock, Arkansas. He further speculated that Clinton might want his remains placed near the presidential library’s rooftop garden.
“The rooftop garden is his happy place,” Wagener said. “I can see him demanding to be buried there, even though they’ve got plenty of land at the library grounds overlooking the Arkansas River.”

Wagener also made more personal claims about Clinton’s use of the library, alleging that the former president spends significant time in its penthouse suite because it provides distance from Hillary Clinton.
“He lives there most of the time because, for one thing, he stays away from Hillary,” Wagener claimed. “That’s his hideout.”
Those assertions about the Clintons’ current living arrangements were presented as Wagener’s claims and were not independently established in the material cited.
There is similarly speculation surrounding Clinton’s estate. The report raises the possibility that he recently changed his purported $120 million will and could leave money to people associated with the presidential library’s garden.
“I think there might be some real surprises when people find out who’s named in the will,” Wagener said.
Again, no documentation establishing such changes to Clinton’s will was presented in the cited material.
What is well documented is the former president’s history of significant health problems.
Clinton underwent quadruple coronary bypass surgery in 2004 after doctors discovered extensive heart disease. In 2010, he underwent another cardiac procedure in which two stents were inserted into a coronary artery.

He faced another serious medical episode in 2021 when a urinary tract infection developed into an infection that spread into his bloodstream. Clinton spent several days hospitalized before being released.
More recently, photographs reportedly showed Clinton traveling with what appeared to be portable medical equipment described in reports as a defibrillator.
Dr. Stuart Fischer, who has not treated Clinton, told Radar Online that someone with Clinton’s medical history could potentially face the danger of a cardiac rhythm problem. Because Fischer is not Clinton’s physician, however, his comments cannot establish Clinton’s current medical condition or diagnose him with such a disorder.
“This is very serious because the arrhythmia can come out of nowhere,” Fischer said while discussing the potential condition.
