Krystal Ball, former MSNBC host and progressive commentator, recently delivered a jaw-dropping display of the very prejudice she claims to oppose. In a recent tirade, Ball expressed utter disbelief that minorities would willingly serve in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), going so far as to question their morality, intelligence, and—ironically—their self-preservation.
Her actual words? “What is wrong with you!? Not only do you not have morality, apparently, you don’t have self-preservation! These people hate you!” She continued, “You’re never going to belong — and you’re the one implementing the violent force against your own community!? I just can’t wrap my head around that!”

What Ball couldn’t wrap her head around was what millions of Americans, regardless of skin color, understand all too well: the badge doesn’t represent an ethnicity, it represents law. ICE isn’t a racial institution—it’s a law enforcement agency. And many of the men and women who serve in its ranks do so precisely because they understand the difference between legal immigration and illegal activity.
The implication that minorities somehow betray their race by enforcing U.S. immigration law is a stunning example of the very racism the Left pretends to fight. Ball’s comments aren’t just misguided—they’re steeped in the assumption that race dictates loyalty, that heritage overrides principle, and that certain jobs or political stances are off-limits based solely on skin color.
My legal Mexican grandparents who were born in Mexico didn’t fly Mexico flags on their property.
They flew American flags & they were more anti illegals than this lunatic could ever comprehend.

The backlash online was immediate and brutal. Posters rightfully pointed out that the true betrayal isn’t minorities serving their country—it’s pundits like Ball who reduce identity to a political stereotype. To people like her, minorities can’t think for themselves. They must conform, vote the same, and fall in line—or else be branded as traitors to their “community.”
But that’s not how America works. This country was never built on racial tribalism. It was built on shared ideals—equal justice, rule of law, and national sovereignty. Those ideals don’t come with a shade card.
Many ICE agents are, in fact, first-generation Americans or legal immigrants themselves. They don’t hate immigrants—they are immigrants. What they reject is lawlessness. What they fight against is cartel smuggling, child trafficking, fentanyl distribution, and border chaos. And yes, what they enforce is the law.
Proves the issue with assimilation. Exceptions prove the rule. These agents identify as Americans. Leftists ruthlessly set upon these men because they are seen as race-traitors to their faction formed on a heuristic for their foot soldiers centered on skin color & foreignness.

The Left constantly proclaims its support for “diversity”—until that diversity includes ideas they don’t like. When a Hispanic ICE agent, a Black Border Patrol officer, or an Asian sheriff refuses to parrot progressive orthodoxy, suddenly the inclusion talk disappears. Suddenly it’s “What is wrong with you?”
What’s right is believing that the American dream is for everyone, and that patriotism, duty, and principle transcend identity.
