President Donald Trump shared a comedy clip on Truth Social just after midnight on Wednesday. The video mocks the daily routine of a CNN reporter in a satirical way. It starts with the line, “My life as someone who tells lies all day long.” A narrator in the clip states, “First, I get up, then I put on my fake news outfit.”
The video ends with the character walking out to bash the President. Trump captioned the post “Day in the Life of a CNN reporter.” This move follows his recent ban on the network from White House events.
The President banned CNN, MS Now, and Politico from the White House in a post on Friday. He stated the ban came “as a result of their constant ‘reporting’ FAKE NEWS!” Trump wrote that media outlets shouldn’t be able to constantly write or report fiction and lies.
The outlets were denied access on Saturday and are now suing the administration. ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox News said they will not provide coverage while the ban stands. The original video came from comedian Patrick Cutler and was posted on Instagram on Tuesday.
First Lady Melania Trump announced a new two-part docuseries on Wednesday during an appearance on Fox & Friends. She told the show the project will be “very different” from her recent film. The 56-year-old explained that the series will feature more one-on-one conversation with her. She added that there are some private questions she will answer that people have never heard before.
The series is set to release later this year, with a likely debut in November. This project was part of a $40 million deal she inked with Amazon MGM for documentary rights.
After earning $7 million during its opening weekend, her previous documentary grossed $16.7 million. The film was directed by Brett Ratner and played in theaters this past January. Melania said she is “working nonstop” since returning to Washington, D.C. She is also working on the Fostering the Future Act with the Senate. On Wednesday, the First Lady will ring the bell on Wall Street to promote her new initiative.
By boycotting coverage, the White House TV pool announced it was standing in solidarity with the banned outlets. Trump also announced his own media channel, Trump TV, amid the rift. The Washington Examiner reached out to Cutler for comment regarding the parody video.
