Former President Donald Trump didn’t miss a beat during his visit to hurricane-ravaged Georgia on Monday, taking a moment to mock President Joe Biden’s absence from the scene. While Trump was on the ground in Valdosta, handing out supplies and meeting with emergency responders, Biden was… well, let’s just say the former president had a theory. When a reporter asked Trump if he had reached out to Biden to discuss federal disaster relief, his response was pure Trump: “No, I haven’t reached out to him. I think he’s sleeping right now, actually.”

That’s right, Trump couldn’t resist taking a jab at Biden’s well-documented fondness for naps. But the underlying point was hard to ignore: while Trump was in the trenches, Biden seemed to be, at best, checked out. Trump didn’t stop there. He was quick to praise Georgia’s Republican Governor, Brian Kemp, for his hard work, pointing out that the governor has been struggling to get any response from the federal government.
“The Governor’s doing a very good job. He’s having a hard time getting the President on the phone … The federal government is not being responsive,” Trump said, highlighting what many see as a lackluster response from the Biden administration. And where was Vice President Kamala Harris? “She’s out someplace campaigning looking for money,” Trump added with a smirk.

The left is losing their minds over this and attacking Trump in the most ridiculous ways.

CNN: President Trump was treated “almost as though he is a sitting president” on the ground in Georgia — as Kamala and Biden were back in D.C. desperately trying to act like they didn’t botch the hurricane response.

It’s hard to argue that Biden and Harris seem more focused on their political futures than on managing the disaster response. When Biden was questioned about why neither he nor Harris had returned to Washington to lead the federal response, his defense was, well, interesting. “I was commanding,” Biden claimed, adding that he had spent two whole hours on the phone the day before. That’s right, folks—two hours on the phone. Meanwhile, Biden’s administration was still playing catch-up, and the American people were left to wonder where their leadership was when they needed it most.
Reporter: “On the hurricane, why weren’t you and VP Harris here in Washington commanding this this weekend?”
Biden: “I was commanding. I was on the phone for two hours yesterday.”

As for Harris, she was busy fundraising over the weekend, bringing in millions from Hollywood elites. Her statement, released through the White House, assured Americans that she would visit the hurricane-ravaged areas “as soon as it is possible without disrupting emergency response operations.” Of course, that didn’t stop her from raking in cash from the glitterati.
This latest episode only reinforces the perception many Republicans have had all along: the Biden-Harris administration seems more interested in securing their political future than in addressing the immediate needs of the American people. While Trump rolled up his sleeves in Georgia, Biden and Harris remained distant, literally and figuratively, from the disaster at hand. It’s a contrast that’s becoming all too familiar.
