Well, well, well… look who’s not just surviving but thriving. At this point in his presidency, Donald J. Trump — yes, the man the media told us would crash and burn in his second term — is now sporting a higher approval rating than both Barack Obama and George W. Bush at the same point in their respective presidencies.
For the Left, and their fellow travelers in the Never Trump brigade (which, let’s be honest, are functionally indistinguishable at this point), this has to sting. They’ve thrown everything they can at Trump — impeachment (twice), investigations, lawsuits, protests, think pieces, late-night monologues, Hollywood outrage, foreign policy hand-wringing, anonymous sources, and more leaks than a broken pipe. And still, here he is: delivering results and earning support for it.

Because here’s the great irony. Trump doesn’t rise in spite of their attacks — he rises because of them.
Every time they scream that the sky is falling, he’s out there rebuilding the roof. Every time they claim democracy is dead, he’s out rallying tens of thousands of Americans who still believe in borders, jobs, and American energy. And every time they label him a threat, he reminds the country exactly what a threat to the system looks like: someone who keeps promises, shrinks bureaucracy, and doesn’t bow to the elite class whispering from behind the curtains.
Huh… look at that. Biden was rock bottom. https://t.co/0aPaTqfBxo

The truth is, Trump’s popularity isn’t just about policy — though economic recovery, border control, and peace through strength aren’t exactly hurting. It’s about resilience. About a president who doesn’t flinch when the usual suspects clutch their pearls. He doesn’t pander. He doesn’t pretend. And crucially, he doesn’t care whether they like him. That, in this age of political theater, is revolutionary.
Obama had charisma. Bush had legacy. Trump? He has durability — the kind that sends pollsters scrambling and columnists into existential crisis.
Trump 2018: Had 23 seat majority, lost 40 seats and control of the house.
Obama 2014: Lost 13 seats in House and 9 in Senate, lost control of Senate.
Bush 2006: had 30 seat majority, lost 30 seats and control of House.
Imagine thinking Trump/GOP are in good shape. https://t.co/A8UG3JdFEp

So yes, at this point, Trump is trending above the darlings of polite politics. But don’t expect an apology from his critics. They’ll keep telling themselves it’s all temporary, that this is just an outlier, that voters will “come to their senses.” They’ll blame the media, blame the voters, blame misinformation — anything to avoid acknowledging that maybe, just maybe, people like a president who punches back and actually delivers.
And deep down, even his critics know it.
