Protests Continue In Newark, New Jersey

The Delaney Hall Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Newark, New Jersey has become the latest flashpoint in the escalating clash between law enforcement and radical progressive activists. Once again, the far-left’s blind allegiance to open-border extremism has led to chaos, criminal conduct, and federal arrests — all in defense of some of the most dangerous illegal aliens held on U.S. soil.

In what’s being dubbed the “Battle of Newark,” a group of Democratic lawmakers and local officials attempted to forcibly breach the ICE facility back in May. Among them were Rep. Robert Menendez, Jr. (D-NJ) and Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) — both now facing intense scrutiny after bodycam footage showed McIver physically assaulting federal agents during the standoff. Her actions have led to federal charges, with further consequences likely to follow.

Even Newark Mayor Ras Baraka was reportedly arrested during the confrontation, signaling just how deeply embedded this radical ideology is within certain corners of city and state government.

Let’s be clear about what kind of individuals are held at Delaney Hall: MS-13 gang members, convicted child predators, and other violent felons who entered the country illegally. This is not a detention center for day laborers or dreamers. Yet these activists — many of whom are funded by well-known leftist nonprofits — are literally throwing themselves in front of buses to prevent the lawful deportation of dangerous criminals.

In a surreal scene more fit for a dystopian satire than real life, protesters physically blocked an ICE transport vehicle trying to remove detainees from the facility. Chanting “Let my people go,” the activists refused to yield, only to be removed by federal agents.

The implication was clear: these agitators don’t distinguish between illegal aliens and hardened criminals, so long as they can publicly oppose the very existence of immigration enforcement. Their allegiance isn’t to public safety, to victims of gang violence or child exploitation — it’s to the narrative, no matter the cost.
