More than 270 rioters were detained by Italian police on Monday after two days of chaos in Milan. This event proves that ordinary people, not just soldiers, step up when order breaks down. The unrest began on Saturday and spilled into Sunday, with protesters targeting local businesses and historic squares.
According to reports, minors make up 80 percent of the arrests, while migrants number at least 60. The group calling itself the “October 17 Movement” plans to keep protesting every Saturday. They want to bring down the current government of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

The violence spread quickly from the area around the famous Milan Cathedral to nearby streets. Protesters broke windows at stores like Under Armour and Levi’s before looting a supermarket. About 2,000 people took part in the riots, destroying outdoor tables and seating areas.
Sunday’s clashes left a minimum of 14 law enforcement officials injured. Angelo De Simeone, a police officer, was hit in the head by a stone thrown by a protester. He received four stitches but refused to leave his post while coordinating the response.

De Simeone told Rai’s TG1 that he had “never seen violence like this.” Despite the pain and the injury, he went back to work on Monday morning. His actions show that courage often looks like a regular person doing their job when others run.
Similar scenes of vandalism and defiance happened across the border in France over the same weekend. The 143-year-old Limoges town hall was burned by radicals, who also targeted symbols of French history. They even climbed a statue of Joan of Arc in Paris to cover it with stickers.

In Toulouse, rioters veiled a Joan of Arc statue with a yellow jacket and a Palestinian flag. But one young man did not let them get away with it. He climbed the monument, ripped off the veil, and threw down the flag before anyone could stop him.

RedState reported that this young patriot cleaned the statue and removed the offensive items. He did not have a weapon or a uniform, just the courage to act. His deed stands in sharp contrast to the thousands who chose to break the law.
