Walz Misstatement Goes Viral On Social Media

There are bad debates, there are total implosions, and then there’s whatever Tim Walz delivered when he went head-to-head with JD Vance. If there was ever a moment to solidify why Democrats are scrambling, this was it. From start to finish, Walz looked like he wanted to be anywhere but on that debate stage, and frankly, who can blame him? His performance was nothing short of disastrous, with JD Vance handing him defeat on a silver platter.

Walz kicked things off with a blunder that set the tone for the rest of the night. While discussing the horrific October 7 Hamas terrorist attacks on Israel, he referred to the Israeli hostages as “prisoners.” Uh, Tim, these weren’t combatants in some kind of military exchange—they were civilians taken hostage by terrorists. Maybe get your facts straight on something as basic as that. And as if that wasn’t bad enough, he fumbled through a mix-up between Iran and Israel. Yikes.

Meanwhile, JD Vance was on fire. At one point, the moderators tried to fact-check him on the CBP One App, only for Vance to turn around and fact-check them right back. Spoiler alert: he was right, and Walz either had no clue what he was talking about or just decided to spread misinformation. It’s tough to watch someone trip over their own words, but when it’s a U.S. Senator doing it in a high-stakes debate, it’s just plain embarrassing.

But the hits kept coming. Walz couldn’t explain why he lied about being in Hong Kong during the Tiananmen Square massacre, and his excuse? “I’m a knucklehead.” Well, that’s one way to convince voters you’re ready for office—just tell them you’re a knucklehead and hope for the best. He tried to clean up the mess by saying he was in China during the “Democracy protests,” but even that was wrong. Walz didn’t arrive until August 1989, two months after the massacre had already ended.

Then came the weirdest part of the night: Walz actually said he was “friends with school shooters.” I mean, what was that? Did he even hear the words coming out of his own mouth? This wasn’t just a gaffe; it was a trainwreck. Voters watching had to be wondering what kind of alternate universe Walz was living in.

When later asked about this, the reply was what you might have expected: a lot of rambling.

By the end of the debate, it was painfully clear: JD Vance came prepared, and Walz came unglued. And now, Democrats have to be sweating bullets. This wasn’t just a bad night—it was a full-on catastrophe that raises serious doubts about Walz’s ability to serve in the second-highest office in the land. Kamala Harris might want to rethink her decision-making skills because if this debate was any indication, her VP pick just torpedoed her campaign.
