Oh, the irony is thick with this one! Congressman Adam Schiff is back at it again, now demanding Big Tech crack down on what he calls “misinformation” and “disinformation” ahead of the 2024 election. Apparently, Schiff has appointed himself as the arbiter of truth, conveniently forgetting his own role in one of the biggest disinformation campaigns of the last decade—the Trump-Russia collusion hoax.
Let’s take a trip down memory lane, shall we? For years, Schiff was the face of the Democratic Party’s relentless, baseless attacks on Donald Trump, pushing the narrative that Trump’s 2016 campaign colluded with Russia. Schiff practically lived on cable news, breathlessly claiming there was “damning” and “more than circumstantial evidence” of a conspiracy between Trump and the Kremlin. He stoked the fires of hysteria for years, despite lacking any solid proof. But hey, why let facts get in the way of a good narrative, right?
Election Interference
Here we go again!
Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff is demanding social media companies “ramp up censorship” of “misinformation and disinformation” ahead of the 2024 election.

Fast forward to Robert Mueller’s investigation, which resulted in… nothing. No collusion, no grand conspiracy. The Trump-Russia hoax Schiff championed turned out to be a massive flop, wasting time, taxpayer dollars, and trust in the political process. But did Schiff ever take responsibility? Of course not. He just quietly shifted gears, pretending his credibility wasn’t in tatters after years of peddling a now-debunked conspiracy theory.
Now, Schiff is acting like the guardian of election integrity, urging tech companies like Meta, X (formerly Twitter), and Google to “combat” misinformation. The hypocrisy here is almost too rich to stomach. The same guy who spread disinformation for years now wants to police what the rest of us are allowed to say online? Give me a break.

And let’s not forget the 2020 election, when Facebook (thanks to the FBI) squashed the Hunter Biden laptop story, calling it—you guessed it—Russian disinformation. That was a real story, by the way, involving actual corruption allegations against Joe Biden’s family. But because it didn’t fit the Democrats’ preferred narrative, the story got buried. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg even admitted later that suppressing the story was a mistake. So who was really interfering in that election?
Schiff has made a career out of manipulating facts and using his position to push false narratives. From lying about Trump-Russia collusion to trying to silence the release of the Nunes memo, this guy has never been about “protecting democracy.” Instead, he’s more interested in controlling the conversation and suppressing anything that doesn’t align with his agenda. Now he’s expecting Big Tech to do his dirty work again by censoring any speech that doesn’t fit the left-wing narrative.

It’s no wonder conservatives are concerned about censorship and election interference. We’ve already seen how these tech giants have been more than willing to play along with Democratic talking points, whether it’s flagging legitimate stories as “disinformation” or throttling accounts that don’t toe the line. Schiff’s latest crusade is just another chapter in the left’s long history of using “disinformation” as a weapon to silence their political opponents.

So forgive me if I don’t take Schiff’s newfound concern about election integrity seriously. If Big Tech is going to listen to someone about disinformation, they might want to start with Adam Schiff’s own track record. After all, the guy has proven himself to be an expert in spreading it.
