Recently, an interesting report has come out about former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, President Joe Biden, and the forthcoming election.
Reports suggest that Pelosi has been encouraging Biden to drop out of the race. Given the current climate, the Democrats are understandably apprehensive. They’ve analyzed heaps of polling data and are beginning to speculate that Biden might not be the best candidate for their party. However, no one seemed willing to take the first step and suggest that maybe it’s time for Biden to withdraw.
In fact, it was recently revealed that Pelosi presented Biden with some poll results that suggested he might not be able to win against Trump. Biden disagreed, but there seems to be mounting pressure.
Additionally, Pelosi reportedly informed Biden that his campaign might be detrimental to the Democratic party. She even cautioned him that some Democrats might begin airing their grievances about his perceived political weaknesses publicly. Those close to Pelosi say she encouraged Biden to consider stepping down soon and if he refuses, she might publicly request him to do so.
But Pelosi isn’t the only one expressing these concerns. Both Senator Chuck Schumer and Representative Hakeem Jeffries have conveyed similar worries to Biden. The initial move in this high-stakes game was made by Rep. Adam Schiff, the former chair of the House Intelligence Committee, who urged Biden to withdraw his re-election bid for the party’s benefit.
As the news story broke, low and behold, Biden’s campaign announced that he was headed to Delaware because he tested positive for COVID.
President Biden tested positive for COVID on Wednesday, according to a WH press release.
White House Press Sec KJP confirmed Biden has tested positive for the virus, noting that he is “vaccinated and boosted and he is experiencing mild symptoms.”https://t.co/Db1W0gdnlO— Daily Caller (@DailyCaller) July 18, 2024
