FEMA Official Loses Position

The aftermath of Charlie Kirk’s assassination has become a grim mirror, reflecting not just the act of political violence itself but the rot in institutions that are supposed to serve the American people without bias. The latest revelation is perhaps the most damning yet: a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Section Chief has been fired after being caught on undercover video mocking Kirk’s death.

The footage, released by James O’Keefe’s O’Keefe Media Group, identifies the official as Sean C. Kelly. In the video, Kelly doesn’t merely criticize Kirk’s politics — he makes light of his assassination.

“It’s tough not to laugh at this stuff,” Kelly said. “Like, he’s a f***ing lunatic and awful and kind of deserves it in his own way.”

Pressed on how FEMA employees felt about the killing, Kelly offered something even more chilling: “Everybody’s kind of laughing.” He described his superiors as “dipshits” and admitted there was “not a ton of empathy for the guy.”

That candor cost him his career. A senior DHS spokesperson confirmed to O’Keefe Media on Friday: “He is being terminated.”

But the larger implications are unavoidable. FEMA isn’t a partisan activist group; it’s a federal agency tasked with protecting and aiding Americans during disasters. The fact that a senior official felt comfortable speaking this way — and suggesting it reflected the broader mood of his colleagues — raises troubling questions about the politicization of government institutions.

And FEMA isn’t alone. The Secret Service was forced to place an agent, Anthony Pough, on administrative leave after he posted that Kirk had “spewed hate and racism” and that “karma” had caught up with him. A source told Real Clear Politics that Pough’s comments were deeply troubling coming from someone sworn to protect all Americans, regardless of political beliefs.

Teachers across the U.S. have also been caught celebrating Kirk’s murder online, leading to suspensions and firings. A Toronto teacher was suspended after reportedly showing his students the video of Kirk’s killing on repeat, lecturing them that the conservative deserved it.

Taken together, these incidents form a disturbing pattern. The alleged assassin, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, was described by classmates as “pretty left on everything” and lived with a transgender partner. For many on the left, that detail has been ignored in favor of spinning false narratives about Robinson being some kind of right-wing extremist.

The truth is uglier: a young man steeped in online radicalism murdered a conservative activist, and too many in supposedly “neutral” professions — from classrooms to federal agencies — have cheered it on.

O’Keefe Media’s report closes with a sobering line: “The footage raises urgent questions about professionalism, ethical standards, and the growing politicization of institutions charged with serving all Americans — regardless of political affiliation.”
