Well, look at that—another day, another example of left-wing billionaires sneaking their way into government offices to push their radical agenda. This time, it’s happening in Wisconsin, where Democratic Attorney General Josh Kaul is facing a lawsuit from dairy farmers who are calling him out for hiring a special assistant attorney general (SAAG) who just so happens to be paid by an outside organization with ties to none other than climate activist and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Because of course.
The lawsuit, filed by the Wisconsin Dairy Alliance, Inc., Venture Dairy Cooperative, and lobbyist Lane Ruhland, points out the obvious problem: an attorney supposedly working for the state’s Department of Justice is actually being funded by New York University’s (NYU) School of Law State Energy and Environmental Impact Center (SEEIC). And, if you dig just a little deeper, you’ll find that Bloomberg pumped $6 million into the SEEIC to ensure it had the resources to embed environmental activists in attorneys general offices across the country. That means Wisconsin’s top law enforcement office isn’t just enforcing the law—it’s carrying out Bloomberg’s climate agenda under the guise of environmental justice.
The lawsuit doesn’t mince words: “The Attorney General and DOJ’s decision to create a SAAG position vested with power and then fill it with an attorney who is employed by a third-party special interest group violates Wisconsin law and is repugnant to public policy.” Translation: why is Wisconsin’s DOJ for sale, and how did Bloomberg end up with insider access to decisions that affect hardworking dairy farmers?
The dairy groups have every reason to be concerned. This sweetheart deal allows a radical environmental center—one that actively pushes for government interference in agriculture—to place one of its own operatives inside the state’s DOJ. That means Wisconsin’s dairy industry, which is already overburdened with regulations and targeted fines, now has to deal with an attorney who is, quite literally, being paid to go after them. And the kicker? No other group, industry, or business in Wisconsin has this kind of special access. Just Bloomberg’s activists.
Of course, SEEIC tries to downplay the situation, insisting that all work completed by its legal fellows is “managed by the respective government official.” That’s a nice little PR spin, but let’s be real—Bloomberg didn’t pour millions into this operation out of the goodness of his heart. The SEEIC exists to push an agenda, and that agenda is all about strangling industries like dairy farming in the name of “climate justice.”
A quick glance at their own website tells you everything you need to know. One blog post argues that the country “can’t reach their climate goals without addressing the agriculture sector,” and it goes on to suggest that farmers need to change how they feed their animals, manage manure, and irrigate crops. In other words, they want to dictate exactly how farming operates, regardless of whether it actually makes sense for those who work the land.
And let’s talk about the fines. Since Kaul took office, he’s made a habit of going after dairy farms for alleged environmental violations, with settlements ranging from $30,000 to $250,000. Some of these fines come from concerns over wastewater disposal, but the lawsuit makes a key point: even when violations are unfounded, simply being accused of wrongdoing stains a farm’s reputation. And now, with an environmental activist parked inside the DOJ, how long before these “violations” become even more frequent and arbitrary?
Lane Ruhland, one of the plaintiffs, laid it out clearly: “Billionaire Mike Bloomberg, who supports policies harmful to farmers, has embedded an attorney in the AG’s office, who has the power of the government behind them to go after farmers and carry out his agenda.” That’s exactly what’s happening, and it’s not an isolated incident.

Oramel H. Skinner, executive director of the Alliance for Consumers, puts this into even greater perspective. This isn’t just about Wisconsin—it’s part of a much larger effort to reshape American society through legal activism. Because Democrats can’t push the Green New Deal through Congress, their billionaire donors are using lawsuits and backdoor appointments to force those same policies onto the public. As Skinner puts it, they’re trying to “stitch together, often through lawsuits, a ‘Frankenstein’ that approximates the Green New Deal.” And Bloomberg is footing the bill.
Republican Rep. Tom Tiffany, who grew up on a dairy farm, had some choice words for the whole situation: “If I were to say one thing to Wisconsin farmers, I would say, call Josh Kaul and say, ‘You should not be taking money from out-of-state billionaires to come after those people who are the bedrock of the agricultural industry in Wisconsin.’” It’s not complicated—Wisconsin’s farmers deserve a fair shake, not politically motivated harassment from a DOJ that’s been infiltrated by climate activists.
The bottom line? Wisconsin’s dairy farmers are being targeted by a legal system that has been hijacked by outside interests. This lawsuit isn’t just about one attorney—it’s about whether or not the people of Wisconsin, and the industries that keep their state running, still have a government that works for them, or if they’ve been sold off to the highest bidder. And if we don’t stop this now, expect this blueprint to spread to every red state in the country.
