Actor Pedro Pascal, widely known for roles in HBO’s The Last of Us and Marvel’s upcoming Fantastic Four, has found himself at the center of an unusual social media controversy involving some of his own fans. The dispute appears to stem from rumors about Pascal’s personal life and speculation surrounding the political views of someone he has reportedly been seen with in public.
The situation escalated when a large Pascal-focused fan account on X posted a statement announcing it would suspend its activity. The account, which described itself as one of the largest meme and fan pages dedicated to the Chilean-born actor, said its administrators were stepping away after becoming frustrated with what they described as “hypocrisy.”
In the statement, the account referenced rumors that Pascal may be romantically involved with Argentine designer Rafael Olarra. Social media users have circulated claims suggesting Olarra holds pro-Israel or “Zionist” views, though those claims have not been independently confirmed.

“Well, as you probably already know, Pedro is supposedly dating a Zionist,” the fan account wrote, also referencing reports that Pascal had recently been seen dining with his sister Lux Pascal at a restaurant alleged by critics online to donate money to Israel.
The account’s administrators expressed disappointment, noting that Pascal has previously shown public support for Palestinian causes and has participated in fundraising events connected to the issue. They framed the situation as a contradiction with what they believed to be his past activism.
“As a fan page and not a cult, we don’t have the mental health to continue with the collection for now,” the statement concluded, announcing the page would go on hiatus.
Shortly afterward, the account reportedly switched its profile to private.
The controversy highlights the increasingly intense scrutiny celebrities face over political issues—particularly those connected to the Israel-Palestine conflict, which has become a major flashpoint in online communities and fan spaces. In many cases, public figures have faced criticism from both sides of the debate depending on perceived affiliations, statements, or associations.
Pascal himself has been politically outspoken in the past, frequently voicing progressive views on social issues. However, he has not publicly commented on the rumors surrounding his relationship with Olarra, and the nature of their relationship remains unclear.
Similarly, there has been no confirmed public statement from Olarra regarding the political views attributed to him in the online speculation.
